Hana Aero Dynamics (HAD) has signed a contract with Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) for the manufacture and supply of Forward (FWD) and Aft (AFT) boarding ladders for the KF-21 fighter aircraft.
The KF-21 is South Korea’s indigenous 4.5-generation supersonic multirole fighter, developed to replace aging fighter fleets and strengthen the operational capabilities of the Republic of Korea Air Force.
The boarding ladder supplied by HAD is a specialized ground support tool used by pilots and maintenance personnel to access and inspect the aircraft. Designed specifically for the KF-21, the external ladder system supports efficient aircraft operation and maintenance while optimizing internal airframe space.
Under the initial contract, HAD will manufacture approximately 30 ladder sets for delivery in 2026. The company successfully completed and delivered the first batch to KAI in April, with the remaining units scheduled for delivery later this year.
Following the successful initial deliveries, HAD was recognized for its product quality and on-time delivery performance, leading to an additional contract signed in June for approximately 20 more ladder sets to support production in 2027.
HAD previously supported the KF-21 development program through the design and supply of high-precision tooling, including sheet metal forming and structural assembly fixtures. This latest contract further demonstrates HAD’s manufacturing capabilities and strengthens its position as a trusted partner in Korea’s aerospace industry.
